Why convert HEIC to JPEG?
HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is the default photo format on many modern smartphones because it produces smaller files with similar quality to JPEG. However, HEIC is not supported everywhere: older browsers, some web platforms, and many email clients do not display HEIC images. Converting to JPEG improves compatibility while keeping a simple, familiar file you can share anywhere.
How conversion works
Drop a HEIC or HEIF file onto the dropzone and the conversion runs entirely in your browser using a compact client-side library. No upload, no server processing — your photo never leaves your device. The tool outputs a standard JPEG that any browser, image editor, or phone can open.
Privacy and limits
- All conversion is performed locally in your browser.
- Quality is configurable where supported; the tool defaults to a high-quality JPEG.
- Large HEIC images may take longer on low-powered devices.
